Now What??? Sad & Tired.

I am starting to wonder what level of love does this world need to exude before my brother can walk down the street without being afraid?
I truly believe in being the change that you want to see……But, now that small pebble in the pond just doesn’t seem to be enough these days.
Is throwing up my brown fist doing anything or is Jesse Williams’ speech changing anything outside of Facebook posts urging everyone to “stay woke?”
Now that we are all awake…. two more brothers have died.
Let that sink in…..2 more brothers are now dead.
So, I humbly ask….now what??????
Another march? Shall we go and knock on the oppressor’s door and show them who’s boss? Yeah. Right.
As much as I want to claim that I am speechless. I am not. My heart is broken for the state of the world and my mouth is filled with ENDLESS prayers. YES! I STILL believe in the power of prayer! We must remember that prayer without works is dead so I urge you to do something. Not just when something happens but do something daily. Don’t be a Sunday morning Christian who talks about people and turn your back on your brother or sister.
Follow up that prayer with a corresponding act of obedience!
SPREAD MORE LOVE.
Watch your pettiness.
Watch what you say.
Stop arguing or judging someone else.
I could go on and on but let’s just start with the man in the mirror and spread love!
At minimum, love will unite us!
1 Corinthians 13:4-10 (MSG)
3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
8-10 Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.
